Periyasamy is a farmer in [[Tamil Nadu]], who leads a simple and happy life with his wife, Paapathi, and their children. One day, the family astrologer Kaali visits periyasamy family and makes accurate predictions about their past and future. Periyasamy's world turns upside down the very same day, because just as Kaali had predicted, Paapathi slips and injures her head, and immediately succumbs to her injuries. Years go by, Periyasamy's children get married and move to Chennai for their livelihood leaving him alone in the village. He eagerly awaits his children's and grandchildren's occasional visits.<br />

A young man, Eeswaran, joins as house help/ foster son for Periyasamy. Eeswaran is street smart, wise and runs from pillar to post to get things done, all the while establishing connections with many VIP's in the state. Periyasamy's children visit the village with their families for Paapathi's 25th death anniversary. At this time, the entire country goes into lockdown due to the [[COVID-19 pandemic in India]]. Periyasamy is overjoyed at the idea of spending more time with his grandkids and calls astrologer Kaali, who predicts that there would certainly be a death in the next few days, leaving them worried about contracting the coronavirus and dying from the complications. So, the whole family takes the PCR tests and fortunately, the results come back as negative. However, the doctor calls Eeswaran about Diya, Periyasamy's 13 year old granddaughter and diagnoses her with a hole in her heart. Unbeknown to the family, Eeswaran arranges for open heart surgery for Diya, in an attempt to keep them calm till the day of the surgery.<br />

Meanwhile, Eeswaran's married ex-girlfriend Vasuki, who happens to be one of Periyasamy's granddaughters, also comes to stay with them in the lockdown and this causes tension between the two. Poongodi, Vasuki's younger sister falls in love with Eeswaran, but he doesn't reciprocate her feelings because he doesn't want to leave Periyasamy and the village and it was also the reason he broke up with Vasuki. At this point, Periyasamy confesses to Eeswaran about how he lost the one true love of his life, Parvathi. He says that he married Paapathi after his break up, but Parvathi came back in his life again and he had no choice but to marry her as his second wife and they had a son. Things got out of hand when Paapathi came to know of this other woman. As a result, Parvathi takes her son and leaves, Periyasamy didn't know their whereabouts until that day. He urges Eeswaran to accept Poongodi's love and lead a happy life, Eeswaran obliges.<br />

Periyasamy's daughter and son-in-law Maragadhamani's business keeps incurring losses and he gets loans from his wife's brothers but fails to repay them, often leading to family feuds. Maragadhamani resorts to asking Periyasamy to sell the family owned land and help him in his business, but Periyasamy vehemently refuses. So, Maragadhamani plans to kill Periyasamy in order to take the family property. He sends poisonous snakes into Periyasamy's farm, but Eeswaran comes to know of this plan and saves the family, but gets bitten. Knowing that it was Maragadhamani's plan, he thrashes him, but his family throws him out citing that he is just an outsider. Seeing the commotion, Diya faints and the whole family tries to rush her to the hospital for emergency surgery. But they are stopped by Rathnaswamy, Periyasamy's arch nemesis who was just released from jail. Rathnaswamy wants revenge against Periyasamy as he was the root cause of the suicide of his wife and daughter. Eeswaran saves the family once again despite the snake poison affecting his body. Finally, he defeats Rathnaswamy and his men and rushes to see Diya, where he collapses and is taken for emergency treatment for the snake bite. Amidst all the confusion, Sonamuthu, a close aide of Periyasamy and Kutty Puli, Eeswaran's friend, explains that Eeswaran is none other than Periyasamy and Parvathi's son Aadhisivan and the truth was hidden as a last wish from Parvathi before she died. Periyasamy and the whole family are overwhelmed hearing this and rush in to see him. Eeswaran recovers from the snake bite and Diya's surgery also is successful and the whole family is happily reunited.<br />

In the motion poster of the film which released on 26 October, the protagonist Silambarasan had a snake wrapped on his neck a forest official filed a case stating that the team had given sedatives to the animal to prevent it from harming the team which kills the animal very soon and also said that many crews are lying telling it is a fake snake. However , the team stated that the snake was a plastic snake and no harm was there for the animal as well as the crew. == Plot ==<br />
Gurumoorthy alias Guru is an [[Master of Business Administration|MBA]] student and athlete living in the suburban area of [[Pallavaram]] in [[Chennai]]. He participates in a state-level running competition where he meets Shakthi, who also participates in the competition. Guru understands that Shakthi needs to win the competition, which will help him secure a job through the sports quota as he is the only breadwinner for his family. Abinaya alias Abi is the only daughter of the rich businessman Anand Chelliah and is a friend of Shakthi's sister. Abi challenges Guru that Shakthi will be the winner of the competition. Guru decides to [[Match fixing|run slowly]] so that Shakthi can win. Later, Abi understands that Guru has purposefully run slow behind Shakthi and starts liking his character. They become good friends, and slowly love starts to blossom between the duo.<br />

Suddenly, Guru visualizes a few bizarre incidents which also occur sometimes later. In Mumbai, he sees his look-alike, Prasad, who is a billionaire businessman and a Mumbai-based Tamilan. Now Guru believes that it would be Prasad who will stab Abi and follows the latter. But while crossing a road, Guru meets with an accident and gets hospitalised by the local people for a few days.<br />

Abi talks to Prasad and takes him to her home. Prasad is a money minded womanizer, who was once born with a rich and wealthy lifestyle, only for it to end, when his parents died in a plane accident, and their business partners took all the money away. Prasad understands that he has a look-alike, and Abi has mistaken him as her lover. Prasad decides to utilize the opportunity and plan to marry Abi, so that he can lead a corrupted lavish lifestyle, with the help of a corrupt jeweler named Sait, who is also his colleague and friend.<br />

Guru gets discharged from the hospital and tries to contact Abi. He also comes to Chennai to meet Abi at her house. Now everyone is shocked to see Guru and Prasad as they both look exactly similar, and Abi is confused that who is really Guru. Prasad pretended as Guru and made everyone believe. Guru's friends conduct a running race to find the real Guru, as Guru is an athlete, but as Guru does not perform well due to his accident in Mumbai, Prasad wins the race, which makes Abi and his friends believe him as Guru. The next day, while Abi talks to Prasad, she finds that he misinterprets an event that occurred before, which makes her realize that Prasad is the one who is with her and not Guru. She tries to run away from Prasad, while Prasad chases her. Guru tries to rescue Abi and kill Prasad. But when Guru is about to stab Prasad, Abi accidentally pushes Prasad and gets stabbed by Guru.<br />

Guru is shocked, and Prasad knocks Guru over and changes clothes with guru and takes Abi with him. Prasad admits Abi in a hospital and again pretends as Guru. Abi believes again that Prasad is Guru. Abi tells that how come someone is trying to taking away a girl who is in love with someone else, and she says that Prasad must not have born to legitimate parents. Prasad realizes his cheap behaviour upon hearing this and confesses that he is Prasad and not Guru. Meanwhile, Guru also rushes to the hospital. Prasad apologizes to Guru and Abi and leaves the place. On the way, he meets Dhanalakshmi. She happily announces that she is pregnant with twins, and they both unite.<br />
