The university has been established under Maharashtra Govt. Act of 2015 of Government of Maharashtra and is approved by UGC. Since then, the university buildings, designed mainly in the classical style, have been located on a campus on the outskirts of Pune.{{Citation needed|date=July 2020}}<br />
