&#039;&#039;&#039;Ariyittuvazhcha Kovilakam&#039;&#039;&#039; is a building in [[Mattancherry]] in the Indian state of [[Kerala]]. This building was used to perform the ceremony of Ariyittuvazhcha by the Maharajas of erstwhile [[Kingdom of Cochin|Cochin Kingdom]].&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;{{Cite web|url=http://www.keralaculture.org/keralaasi-protected-mounments/628|title=List of Protected Mouments by State Archaeology Department, Kerala|last=|first=|date=|website=www.keralaculture.org|archive-url=|archive-date=|access-date=2018-09-21}}&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt; This is a [[List of State Protected Monuments in Kerala|state protected monument]] declared by Kerala State. The building is in the style of [[nālukettu]]. It was constructed of brick and wood and the ceiling is covered with burned mud pieces called &amp;quot;oodu&amp;quot;. This building was opened only for the coronation. A cot in the locked room in the cottage, used only during coronation.&lt;br /&gt;

Ariyittuvazhcha is a coronation ceremony performed by Maharaja of Cochin kingdom.&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;{{Cite web|url=http://shodhganga.inflibnet.ac.in/bitstream/10603/84917/10/10.chapter%204.pdf|title=Family Relations of Kolaswaroopam With Travancore and Arackal Royal Families|website=shodhganga.inflibnet.ac.in|archive-url=|archive-date=|access-date=2018-09-21}}&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt; This ceremony began with a procession from the [[Mattancherry Palace|Dutch palace]] and progress to Ariyittuvazcha Kovilakam. The Maharaja would then bathe in the pond. This is called Ariyittuvazhcha. Ari is the [[Malayalam]] name of rice. A large crowd witnessed this ceremony and they make kurava when the ceremony is performed.&lt;br /&gt;
