==Plot==

Jayadevan (Mammootty) reads a poem at a library function and is noticed by prominent literary figure VP Menon (Bharath Gopi). Menon tells it to his sister Bharathi (Suhasini) and even gets him a job as proof reader at a newspaper. Jayadevan lives in a rented house with neighbour Writer Kumaran (Sankaradi) and his two daughters Geetha (Seema) and Nalini (Sabitha). Though Geetha has her own problems of not getting married because her father cannot pay dowry, and also not getting a job because she could not study beyond 10th class, she is still a source of encouragement for Jayadevan's literary activities. Once when Jayadevan gets intimate with her, she accepts it only for both to get scolded by Kumaran. But when she realises Jayadevan has affection for Bharathi, she keeps away from him. When Menon comes to know about the relation between Jayadevan and Bharathi, he rebukes him for falling for petty things like romance. He tries to make Bharathi understand that a writer's life is wayward and she would not be able to hand it. A disturbed Jayadevan decides to forget Bharathi and get on with his job and writing; he gets intimate with Geetha. Bharathi tells Menon not to look for any other alliance for her if not for Jayadevan. Finally, Jayadevan leaves Geetha and marries Bharathi.

Jayadevan's first novel becomes a success. Friends, functions and recognition introduces him to alcohol. His relation with Bharathi starts to crack when she occasionally reminds him of Geetha's inspirations and wonders if he still visits her. When his second work does not repeat the success, alcohol becomes an addiction which breaks his relation with Menon. Bharathi tries to support Jayadevan but his frustration makes him leaves Bharathi who later finds him at Geetha's home and accuses her of being a slut who stole him because he is rich and well-known. This hurts Geetha badly.

Later, Geetha, who works as theatre actress asks Jayadevan to write a play. He tries to seduce her but she refuses saying she does not want to incur the wrath of Bharathi again. The play becomes a huge success and tours around the country. When she comes back, Geetha later finds Jayadevan destitute, without job, without home and constantly drunk. She takes him to her home. She tries all she can to bring him back to his old self. Jayadevan finds it tough but he overcomes his drinking habit. He gets intimate with Geetha. Geetha asks Menon's help and he gets Jayadevan a job. Jayadevan writes a third novel which becomes a huge success. More works follow. Awards. Recognition. Padmashri. Jayadevan is into his middle-age. He invites Geetha to accompany him to a felicitation but Menon asks him to refrain from it out of fear of scandals. Jayadevan is ready to face it but Geetha makes him understand and watches from far as Jayadevan is felicitated by many.

The film begins with Town Hall brimming with people gathered for the felicitation of Jayadevan for winning Jnanpith. News suddenly breaks out that he has been hospitalised after suffering a heart attack on his way to the function. He is admitted to ICU. Menon arrives at the hospital. Geetha follows later. Bharathi is informed but stays back home. Through the recollections of these three people, we get to know the story. Later, Geetha leaves the hospital, visits Bharathi and tells her about the abuse long back, that Geetha had stolen Jayadevan in his prime; Geetha explains that she found Jayadevan when he was on the street, bought him back to glory and wants nothing more. She requests Bharathi to go to the hospital. When she reaches the hospital, Menon informs her that Jayadevan has died and had asked for Bharathi towards the last. The body is kept for public mourning at Town Hall with Bharathi crying beside the body and Geetha watching from far. The body is covered with wreaths and flowers. After the body and the gathering leave the hall, Geetha walks to the stage, finds a frame of flowers where the body was laid and touches the spot where Jayadevan's feet was.

==Plot==
Sherly ([[Shobhana Chandrakumar|Shobhana]]) is an orphan who is sponsored by an old man. On his death, the sponsorship is continued by his son Roy ([[Mammootty]]), who is a rich businessman. But Sherly does not know about him. She comes to College in the city where Roy's niece Mercy ([[Sabitha Anand]]) is her classmate and she meets Roy still not knowing he is her sponsor. On the other hand, Alex ([[Lalu Alex]]) introduces his brother ''Baby'' ([[Rahman (actor)|Rahman]]) to Roy, and on Roy's advice Baby starts working in his firm.

At Mercy's birthday party, Baby meets Sherly and falls in love with her, but her mind has already gone for Roy, still without knowing that he is her sponsor, and she rejects Baby. Later Sherly finds that Roy has no feelings for her, although he is secretly in love with her but does not wish to reveal it because of the age gap between them and also because Baby confuses her by lying to her that Roy and Elsie ([[Seema (actress)|Seema]]) were in love for a long time and couldn't marry because of Roy's father. Sherly is extremely frustrated at this and in a fit of rage goes to Elsie and lies to her that she is pregnant with Roy's baby. Elsie is shocked at this and goes to his office and scolds him for his irresponsibility but Roy tells her that it was not him.

He calls Sherly to his office and shouts at her thinking that she is pregnant with Baby's baby and lied to the doctor that she was pregnant with his baby but she tells him that she was lying to break them up and also to prove her love for him and tells him that she cannot live without him. However, Mother Superior tells Roy that she was going to be sent to Italy to learn music and also that she was allowed to become a nun now. And on Mother Superior's ([[Kaviyoor Ponnamma]]) advice she decides to become a nun although she doesn't want to and plans to leave to Italy due to her gratitude towards Mother and her sponsor.

So as a final meeting she sees Roy and tells him about this and that she cannot see him anymore. She also meets Baby and tells him everything including that she is an orphan and that she is going to be a nun. He, however, still was willing to marry her but she tells him that she is in love with someone else and he did not accept her so she decided to become a nun. He insists her on telling him who he is and she tells him that it is Roy. At this news he goes to Roy's office and shouts at him for what he did.

But as a last wish she wants to see her unknown sponsor who has blessed her all her life with what she would have never had. Mother Superior meets Roy and discloses Sherly's wish to meet her sponsor before she leaves for Italy, however he refuses. Mother Superior handles over a letter from Sherly, for the very first time without their censoring and leaves. But just before leaving, Sherly is told that her sponsor will meet her. She rushes down the orphanage corridor to find.

==Plot==
An araachar (hangman) from Tamil Nadu is brought to central jail to hang Hyder Marakkar ([[Tiger Prabhakar]]), a notorious criminal with terror links, but he is killed in a road accident. DIG Marar ([[Janardhanan (actor)|Janardhanan]]) smells foul play as hangmen are either murdered, bribed or threatened. His efforts to bring hangmen from other states are also in vain as all of them are simply too afraid to hang Hyder. He goes to Kamakshipuram along with Jose Nariman ([[Suresh Gopi]]), a smart and young police officer, to meet Narasimha Mannadiar ([[Mammootty]]), a revered village lord and member of the royal family who had once ruled the hamlet. He is worshipped and revered by his villagers. Mannadiar is known for his generous and fearless attitude, and his thirst for justice and peace for his village has made him an enemy in the eyes of politicians and a certain group of police officers. While on the search for the state's hangman, Mannadiar and DIG Marar luckily meets the hangman's brother Kasi ([[T. G. Ravi]]) who agrees to come to hang Hyder. The movie progresses with a series of flashbacks intertwined with the present.

Upon Nariman's request, Ponmani ([[Babu Namboothiri]]), Mannadiar's secretary, shares with him a few stories from Mannadiar's life that made him popular. One among them was shared with Veerasimha Mannadiar ([[Jayaram]]), his younger brother. Veeran liked Maya ([[Rudra (actress)|Rudra]]) and informed Mannadiar about it. A few days before the marriage, a young man ([[Vikram (actor)|Vikram]]) arrived at Mannadiar's house, introducing himself as Bhadran, a man in love with Maya. He also added that her parents had agreed to the marriage without Maya's consent. Mannadiar called off Veeran's marriage and got Maya and Bhadran married. Bhadran was a gang member of Marakkar who did not want to kill the DIG. Hence, Bhadran was a target of the gang. Veeran saves Bhadran and the latter is appointed as Mannadiar's driver. Marakkar kills DIG Marar's son for revenge and also kills Veeran as he would have been an eye witness. From that day onwards, Mannadiar waits for the chance to avenge for his brother's death. Upon hearing the story, Nariman decides to help Mannadiar. Although convicted by court for execution, Marakkar tries every possible way to escape. Mannadiar's battle of revenge against Marakkar forms the rest of the story.

In the end, Mannadiar and Bhadran get themselves taken to the jail where Hyder has been kept. While transferring Hyder to another jail, Mannadiar, along with Bhadran, kidnaps Hyder with Nariman's assistance. Hyder challenges Mannadiar to a fair fight, where he initially overpowers Mannadiar, who soon gets the better of him. In the process, in order to save Mannadiar from a bomb thrown by Hyder's associates, Nariman catches the bomb and falls on it, which explodes, killing him. Mannadiar then hangs Hyder from a tree. At the court, Mannadiar takes the full responsibility for the murders thereby making Bhadran a pardoned-witness and Mannadiar gets the death sentence.

==Plot==
The story begins in a jail. Ramachandran ([[Siddique (actor)|Siddique]]), a very agile police officer, takes charge as the superintendent. He is given a brief about the jail and the prisoners by Narayanan Potti ([[Innocent (actor)|Innocent]]), who is the jailer.

One day Ramachandran comes face to face with Gokuldas ([[Dileep (actor)|Dileep]]), one of the prisoners who is to be released soon, on July 4. It is then revealed that the very reason Ramachandran had taken charge of the jail is to meet Gokuldas, with whom he has some old scores to settle. From here unfurls, in flashback sequences, the story of Gokuldas.

As a child, Gokuldas had no one but his mother ([[Sona Nair]]) to call his own; he lived in a street and worked in a cycle shop. When he is picked up by the police along with other boys from the street for a crime he has not committed, things go berserk in his life. His mother comes to get him released but is raped and killed by the police officer ([[Chali Pala]]) in charge of the station.

When Das comes out, he teams up with some other boys and takes revenge on the police officer, strangling him. Then they flee to [[Mumbai]], where they become criminals, constantly clashing with the cops. Things get too hot for them when a daring police officer takes charge, and they break up, with Das taking refuge in a colony at the house of Gopalan ([[Vijayaraghavan (actor)|Vijayaraghavan]]), who is a kind-hearted taxi driver. He gets close with Gopalan and his family, but soon the cops reach there, too. In the tussle that follows, Gopalan is killed. Das, who escapes from the cops, is filled with remorse. Later, he takes Gopalan's family and leaves Mumbai, deciding to lead a good life. He works as a taxi driver at the [[Coimbatore airport]]. One day he meets a young girl, Sreepriya ([[Roma Asrani|Roma]]) at the airport. She later travels in his car. When Sreepriya urges him to speed, offering him more money, he obliges, only to hit an auto rickshaw carrying school children. Sreepriya catches another taxi and continues on her way. Gokuldas later turns up at Sreepriya's house asking for compensation. Viswanathan, her father ([[Devan (actor)|Devan]]), offers him a job a driver, and things take a new turn.

After the engagement of Sreepriya with Suresh ([[Sarath Das]]), the son of Ramachandran, Das takes Sreepriya for an examination in [[Coimbatore]]. But on the way back, they are chased by a gang of three toughies, who during the previous night, had tried to break into her bedroom. They hide in an old house in the forest. When Das meets the gang of three toughies, it is revealed in a flashback that they were his friends who helped him to kill the inspector. As they are forced to spend a few days together, they develop a liking for each other, and eventually in love. For saving her both from his friends, he jumps from the cliff holding her. They are saved by a Malayali ([[Salim Kumar]]) in the forest. When both gain consciousness, Das reveals that he did all these things to fulfill a contract from Ramachandran as a retribution to him for a huge sum, which was borrowed for an operation of children of Gopalan as the auto-rickshaw hit by his car was carrying a group of school kids in which they were included. But it is unknown to him for what purpose Ramachandran gave him quotation to kill, which he was not expected.
It is later revealed that Viswanathan ([[Devan (actor)|Devan]]), is the stepfather of Priya as her mother married him, who is a widower and has a daughter from his first marriage, Shilpa Viswanathan.

Into their lives comes Anand Varma ([[Lal (actor)|Lal]]), a [[Dubai]]- based rich fashion tycoon, who is on the verge of divorce with his wife Devika Varma ([[Asha Sarath]]). Meanwhile, Sathyanarayan realizes that Anjali is his childhood friend.

Anand does not want to lose Devika, so he hires Sathyanarayan to persuade Devika to step back from the divorce. Sathyan and Antappan fly to Dubai to join the company which is now owned by Devika. The first time, Devika kicks Sathyan out of the company, but later had to let him join. Amazed by Sathyan's business tricks, Devika later promotes him as the Assistant Manager.

As Devika was planning to appoint someone representing Devika in the Asian Beauty Contest, Sathyan persuades Anand to pick Anjali as his model. Devika finally finds Natasha as her representative, but Sathyan persuades Natasha to reunite Anand and Devika. In the end, Anjali wins the competition after explaining the consequences of being divorced in the Intelligence round, and Anand and Devika reunite. Anjali, after the competition, visits Sathyan who says his real name is Sathyan to Anjali. Sathyan confesses that Anjali is his childhood friend, and they both reunite.
