Vaid is a qualified [[chef]] and a [[lifestyle (sociology)|lifestyle]] [[columnist]] with ''[[The Hindustan Times]]''. He has been actively involved with [[theatre]] and has done a few street plays at the Prithvi theatre in Mumbai. It was during one of these plays that he was offered a role in the television serial, ''Campus''. He has acted in a number of [[Bollywood]] movies. He started out his career in a small budget movie ''[[Market (2003 film)|Market]]''.<br />
