The '''1997 Indian Federation Cup final''' was the 20th final of the [[Federation Cup (India)|Indian Federation Cup]], the top knock-out competition in [[India]], and was contested between Kolkata giant [[East Bengal F.C.|East Bengal]] and [[Salgaocar S.C.|Salgaocar]] of Goa on 20 July 1997 at the [[Salt Lake Stadium]] in Kolkata.

In the pre-quarter finals, Salgaocar defeated Mizo Highlanders 6–0 to reach the last eight of the tournament where they faced [[Border Security Force Sporting Club|Border Security Force]]. In the quarter-finals, Salgaocar defeated Border Security force 4–3 via penalty shootout after the game ended 1–1 after added extra time.
