The elections for the [[Municipal Corporation Chandigarh|Chandigarh Municipal Corporation]] were held on 18 December 2016. The candidates were in fray for the election to 26 seats (wards) of [[Chandigarh]] union territory.

BJP won 20 seats and became the single largest party in the council of total 26 elected seats. In the [[2011 Chandigarh Municipal Corporation election]] Congress had won 11 seats out of total 25.
