It was presented by Finance Minister [[Ishaq Dar]] on 26 May 2017 at the [[National Assembly (Pakistan)|National Assembly]] with a total outlay of [[Pakistani rupee|₨.]] 4.75 [[Trillion (short scale)|tn]]. The budget proposed a 10.0% increase in the salaries and pensions of [[Government of Pakistan|federal government]] employees and an increase in the minimum monthly wage from [[Pakistan Rupee|₨.]] 14,000 to [[Pakistan Rupee|₨.]] 15,000.
