The final match took place between India and Afghanistan. India entered the final as the previous tournament's losing finalists, having lost against the [[Maldives national football team|Maldives]] in [[2018 SAFF Championship final|2018]]. For Nepal this was their first ever appearance in a SAFF Championship final.
