On 24 September 2022, [[Chief Minister of Rajasthan]], [[Ashok Gehlot]] expressed his wish to file nomination for upcoming [[2022 Indian National Congress presidential election|elections]] for becoming [[List of presidents of the Indian National Congress|President of the Indian National Congress]]. After which Gehlot suggested the name of [[C. P.
