==Overview==
About 158 candidates including 12 women participated in the election. ==Results==
The VPP won majority seats. The state ruling party [[National People's Party (India)|NPP]] won 4 seats. The [[United Democratic Party (Meghalaya)|UDP]] won five seats, [[Hill State People's Democratic Party|HSPDP]] won one seat, and two Independents won. The [[Indian National Congress|Congress]] party which earlier formed majority has drawn a blank.<ref name=":1" />
