== Formation ==
The 73 Armoured Regiment has the unique distinction of being raised during wartime, being formed on 3 December 1971,<ref>{{cite web|url=https://www.tribuneindia.com/2011/20111128/main5.htm|title='Prez honours 5 armoured corps regiments' in 'The Tribune'|date=2011-11-28|access-date=2020-11-01}}</ref> the day the [[Indo-Pakistani War of 1971|Indo-Pak war]] broke out. == History ==

==Equipment==
The Regiment was equipped with the [[T-54/T-55|T-55]] tanks at raising. It is now equipped with the [[T-90]] tanks.
==Operations==

==Regimental Insignia==
The Regiment’s crest comprises crossed lances with the ''Sheesh Kavach'' of the legendary [[Prithviraj Chauhan]] and a scroll at the base.
