== Formation ==&lt;br /&gt;
The 73 Armoured Regiment has the unique distinction of being raised during wartime, being formed on 3 December 1971,&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;{{cite web|url=https://www.tribuneindia.com/2011/20111128/main5.htm|title=&amp;#039;Prez honours 5 armoured corps regiments&amp;#039; in &amp;#039;The Tribune&amp;#039;|date=2011-11-28|access-date=2020-11-01}}&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt;  the day the [[Indo-Pakistani War of 1971|Indo-Pak war]] broke out. ==Equipment==&lt;br /&gt;
The Regiment was equipped with the [[T-54/T-55|T-55]] tanks at raising. It is now equipped with the [[T-90]] tanks.&lt;br /&gt;
==Operations==&lt;br /&gt;

==Regimental Insignia==&lt;br /&gt;
The Regiment’s crest comprises crossed lances with the &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Sheesh Kavach&amp;#039;&amp;#039; of the legendary [[Prithviraj Chauhan]] and a scroll at the base.
