Writer Vijayendra Prasad quoted "This is a creation of a parallel world of heroism. My story of Devsena will be the first and only narration of a woman so strong that she could rule the world of patriarchy by knowledge and sword. This is the only project which has brought me to the small screen".<ref name=":1">{{Cite web|url=https://news.abplive.com/entertainment/television/aarambh-promo-fiery-tanuja-mukerji-gorgeous-karthika-nair-as-devsena-in-star-plus-magnum-opus-will-blow-your-mind-830305|title=Aarambh PROMO: Fiery Tanuja Mukerji & gorgeous Karthika Nair as 'Devsena' in Star Plus magnum opus will blow your mind!|website=ABP News|url-status=live|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20191227060118/https://news.abplive.com/entertainment/television/aarambh-promo-fiery-tanuja-mukerji-gorgeous-karthika-nair-as-devsena-in-star-plus-magnum-opus-will-blow-your-mind-830305 |archive-date=27 December 2019 }}</ref>
To increase its viewership, it went through many changes including a 200 years leap and a change in its title from ''Aarambh'' to ''Aarambh: Kahaani Devasena Ki''.<ref name=":0">{{cite web|url=http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/tv/news/hindi/aarambh-to-take-a-200-year-leap-and-introduce-8-new-characters/articleshow/59756277.cms|title=Aarambh to take a 200-year leap and introduce 8 new characters|accessdate=25 July 2017}}</ref><ref>{{Cite web|url=https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/tv/news/hindi/aarambh-makers-trying-every-trick-to-grab-more-eyeballs/articleshow/59831085.cms|title='Aarambh' makers trying every trick to grab more eyeballs?|website=The Times of India|url-status=live|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20170803143909/http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com:80/tv/news/hindi/aarambh-makers-trying-every-trick-to-grab-more-eyeballs/articleshow/59831085.cms |archive-date=3 August 2017 }}</ref><ref>{{Cite web|url=https://news.abplive.com/videos/star-plus-serial-aarambh-name-to-be-changed-554337|title=Star Plus serial Aarambh name to be changed|website=ABP News|url-status=live|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20191227060117/https://news.abplive.com/videos/star-plus-serial-aarambh-name-to-be-changed-554337 |archive-date=27 December 2019 }}</ref>
==Reception==
[[The Quint]] wrote, "The show promos - visually, it didn’t seem as great as we had seen in ''Mahadev, Mahakumbh'' and ''Siya Ke Ram''. Over all, the performances and execution of ''Aarambh'' was quite average. It failed to connect with the viewer."<ref>{{Cite web|url=https://www.thequint.com/entertainment/tv/star-plus-aarambh-review|title='Aarambh' Review: Devasena’s TV Screen Adaptation Is a Yawn Fest|website=The Quint|url-status=live|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20191227060119/https://www.thequint.com/entertainment/tv/star-plus-aarambh-review |archive-date=27 December 2019 }}</ref>

Anvita Singh of [[India Today]] wrote, "It promises good things; like a tight script, decent acting, and some great visual effects. The treatment of the basic 'plot' is not completely bizarre. The scenes chase each other, and the pilot packs in a lot of information. Rajniesh Duggall (Varundev), Karthika Nair (Devasena), Tarun Khanna (Veer Kayast), and Tanuja (Hahumaa) were believable."<ref>{{Cite web|url=https://www.indiatoday.in/television/reviews/story/5-things-we-absolutely-loved-about-baahubali-inspired-show-aarambh-lifetv-984629-2017-06-25|title=5 things we absolutely loved about Baahubali-inspired show Aarambh|website=India Today|url-status=live|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20180202232801/https://www.indiatoday.in/television/reviews/story/5-things-we-absolutely-loved-about-baahubali-inspired-show-aarambh-lifetv-984629-2017-06-25 |archive-date=2 February 2018 }}</ref>
