Historically a town of [[British Raj|British India]], it was founded in the mid-eighteenth century by a local leader named Nawab Afzal Ali Khan, who also built a fort in the area, which was dismantled after the [[Indian Rebellion of 1857]].&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;Still now some part of the port available near municipality area. 13 km far away small town Kalagarh is there. around this city mountain available. Kalagarh is the part of Uttrakhand.&lt;br /&gt;
