&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Akshobhya Tirtha&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; ({{circa}} 1282- {{circa}} 1365) was a [[Dvaita]] philosopher, scholar and theologian.{{Sfn|Sharma|2000|p=300}} Born as Govinda Shastri, he received [[sannyasa]] from [[Madhva]] and later succeeded [[Madhava Tirtha]] as the pontiff of the [[Madhvacharya]] peetha from (1350 - 1365). {{Sfn|Sharma|2000|p=300}}{{Sfn|Jackson|2007|p=145}} A non-extant work titled &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Madhva Tantra Samgraha&amp;#039;&amp;#039; is attributed to him. {{Sfn|Sharma|2000|p=300}} Sharma contends that Akshobhya retired to [[Pandharapur]] in his twilight years where he encountered a youth called Dhondu Pant on the banks of [[Bhima river]], who would later go on to be his disciple and successor, [[Jayatirtha]]. {{Sfn|Sharma|2000|p=301}} His mortal remains rest at [[Malkhed]].&lt;br /&gt;
