It later diversified into cough syrups, vitamins, tonics, and sulphur drugs. In 2010, Alembic Pharmaceuticals was formed after a demerger from Alembic Ltd. The demerger was carried out through the allotment of 133,515,914 equity shares of ₹2 each to Alembic Ltd. shareholders, reducing Alembic Ltd.’s stake to 29.18%.
