From 2020, even in non-science/lab-based subjects, CBSE issued guidelines to conduct internal assessment for 20 marks for which only the theory exam filled up the 100 marks limit up till 2019. Theory papers are conducted for a duration of 3 hours, while the duration for practical exams depends on the subject.<br />

For practical exams, students have to perform practicals in other schools usually given by CBSE at random in the nearby state or area, maintain their records and attend a viva. The results of the examinations is declared in the first week of May.
