Amanatullah Khan was born in Agwanpur village, [[Meerut district]] to Waliullah Khan. He attended the [[Jamia Millia Islamia]] but did not complete his degree. Amanatullah Khan is a member of the [[Aam Aadmi Party]]. His term as [[Member of the Legislative Assembly (India)|MLA]] in the [[Seventh Legislative Assembly of Delhi]] is his second term. He defeated Braham Singh of [[Bhartiya Janata Party|BJP]] by a margin of 71,664 votes in the [[2020 Delhi Legislative Assembly election]]s. Khan had also contested elections for the [[Sixth Legislative Assembly of Delhi]] and won. ==Controversy==&lt;br /&gt;
On 20 July 2016, a woman filed a case against Khan for allegedly threatening her with dire consequences. A case was registered against Khan under section 506 of [[Indian Penal Code|IPC]] at the Jamia Nagar Police station in South Delhi. In April 2020, an FIR was filed against Khan for allegedly threatening Yati Narsinghand in the aftermath of an incident at a Dasna temple where Narsinghand had supported a man for assaulting a 14 year old child and made disparaging comments against the Prophet Muhammad.
