It is nestled under the Anangan hills and hence the name Ananganadi. The Anangan hills, popularly known as Ananganmala, are 2500 acres of rocky formation interspersed with lush green forests, with a variety of local wildlife. It stretches north-south for approximately 20 km and at its highest point stands at about 1200 metres. The Anangan hills has an ecotourism centre. <br />

The Cherambetta Bhagavathy temple and the Pattarkonam Shiva temple are two very old temples in Ananganadi village. <br />
