==Career==
Born in [[West Bengal]], Mukherjee started his football career with Army Public School, Calcutta.<ref name="TI">{{cite news |last1=Paul |first1=Ayan |title=Football for fun to game of passion in five years |url=https://www.telegraphindia.com/states/west-bengal/football-for-fun-to-game-of-passion-in-five-years/cid/1311526 |access-date=24 November 2018 |work=Telegraph India |date=22 August 2018}}</ref> In 2013, Mukherjee represented the school's football side in the Keventer Cup. He played the tournament at center back and impressed enough to earn a spot in the tournament's All Star side.<ref name="TI"/> In 2014, during a friendly match against [[East Bengal F.C.|East Bengal U19]], Mukherjee impressed East Bengal's coach and was selected to join the squad.<ref name="TI"/>

Mukherjee spent a year and a half with East Bengal before signing with [[Calcutta Football League|Calcutta Premier Division]] side [[Aryan F.C.|Aryan]].<ref name="TI"/> After sporadic appearances in his first season, he soon broke into a regular starting role during his second year.
