On 1886.09.01 it was suppressed, its territory being reassigned to the previously co-existent Metropolitan [[Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Pondicherry|Archdiocese of Pondicherry]] (now Metropolitan Archdiocese of Pondicherry and Cuddalore).<br />
