== Early life and education ==
Marak is from Baklagre village, Haldibari post, Tura, West Garo Hills District, Meghalaya.<ref>{{Cite web |title=Members {{!}} Meghalaya Government Portal |url=https://meghalaya.gov.in/meghalaya-legislative-assembly/44293 |access-date=2024-12-26 |website=meghalaya.gov.in}}</ref> He is the son of late Pitter A. Sangma. He completed his BA in 2011 at Kazi and Zaman College, [[New Bhaitbari]], which is affiliated with [[North-Eastern Hill University]], Shillong. He is a former member of [[Garo Hills Autonomous District Council|Garo Hills Autonomous district council]], Tura. His wife is a government employee.<ref name=":0" />

== Career ==
