He was appointed the [[Official Spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs]] in March 2021 and served there till 3 January 2024. On 16 October 2023, he was appointed India's Permanent Representative to the [[United Nations Office at Geneva|United Nations at Geneva]]. == Early life ==
Bagchi had been an investment banker for two years before joining the Indian Foreign Service. He has previously served as Indian ambassador to [[Croatia]] from November 2018 to June 2020.
