== Biography ==
A. Rajasekaran was born on 17 November 1935 in [[Nellikuppam]] in [[South Arcot]] of the south Indian state of [[Tamil Nadu]].<ref name="Rajasekaran: a man of humble origin" /> After graduating in medicine from [[Stanley Medical College]], Chennai, he started his career at a Primary Health Centre in [[Vadalur]] village as a village doctor.
