Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Avinissery has an average literacy rate of 83%, higher than the national average of 59.5%. 12% of the population is under 6 years of age. A lot of villagers are occupied in gold work like the neighboring villages Cherpu, Perinchery, Ammadam, Vallachira, and Ollur.
