&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;B. D. Satoskar&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; (26 March 1909 – 27 November 2000) was a historian, [[freedom fighter]], publisher and journalist from the state of [[Goa]], India.  He was born in [[Mashel]] village of Goa.  Satoskar has authored many books in [[Marathi language|Marathi]] as well as [[Konkani language|Konkani]].  He is best known for &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Gomantak prakriti ani Sanskriti&amp;#039;&amp;#039; (Goa:Nature and Culture, volumes I-III), an encyclopedic work on history and culture of Goa and the [[Goans]].&amp;lt;ref name=bd&amp;gt;{{cite book|title=Journal of South Asian Literature, Volume 18|year=1983|publisher=Asian Studies Center, Michigan State University.|location=Michigan State University. ==Legacy==&lt;br /&gt;
The Directorate of Official Language, [[Government of Goa]] has instituted the &amp;#039;&amp;#039;B. D. Satoskar Marathi Bhasha Puraskar&amp;#039;&amp;#039; under the Bhasha Puraskar Yojana. The award is conferred upon personalities to honour their contribution to [[Marathi language]].
