As a batsman, Garudachar's highest score (and only century) came for Mysore against [[Holkar cricket team|Holkar]] in the [[1945–46 Ranji Trophy]], when he was captaining the team. After Holkar scored 912/8 in its first innings (with five individual centuries), Mysore were bowled out for 190, and made to [[follow on]].
