In 2015, The BVA swept the [[Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation]] polls by winning 106 seats. Vasai elected its first woman Mayor, Pravina Thakur for Bahujan Vikas Aaghadi. Pravina Thakur is married to Hitendra Thakur, MLA from [[Vasai]].<br />
