Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Bairabi has an average literacy rate of 69%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 54% of the males and 46% of females literate. 19% of the population is under age six.
==Connectivity==
Bairabi is one of the railhead of Mizoram, connected with a broad gauge line.
