== Geography ==
The main languages spoken here are [[Surjapuri language|Surjapuri]], [[Urdu]], [[Hindi]] and [[Bengali language|Bengali]]. Barsoi Railway station is one of the major junctions of NFR railway, with more than 100 trains passing through the station, connecting passengers to all major stations in the country. Rice, wheat, jute, and maize are some of the important crops grown here. The Barsoi subdivision is spread around 1450 km<sup>2</sup>. The climate of Barsoi is highly diverse with high rainfall, mainly in the months of June to September. The minimum temperature in winter is around 10 °C, and maximum temperature in summer is around 42 °C.{{Citation needed|date=June 2015}}

It has a small market close to the railway station and one more at the rail gate known as Railway Gumti.
