==Early life==<br />
Bava was born in Vakathanam, Kottayam district, on 11 January 1870. At the age of sixteen he was ordained as a deacon. He was ordained as a priest and ramban in 1896.{{r|CLL}}<br />

In 1907 he moved to Vakathanam, where he was consecrated a bishop of the [[Niranam Church]] on 9 February 1913 and assumed the name Geevarghese Mar Philexinos and was given charge of Kottayam and Angamaly dioceses.{{cn|date=February 2026}}<br />
