[[Indira Gandhi]] when she was out of power 1977 visited Belchi to meet victims of atrocities on Dalits. This helped her regain power. ==Sufi Chillah==

12th century Sufi Saint, Hazrat [[Usman Harooni]] chillah is in Belchi. As known, there was a lady Muridah, who was promised by Hazrat [[Usman Harooni]] that after her death her tomb will be beneath his legs. But eventually Hazrat [[Usman Harooni]] died in [[Makkah]] Arab. To fulfill his promise, Hazrat [[Usman Harooni]] spiritually came to Belchi and fulfilled his promise. Hazrat [[Usman Harooni]] order to built his Chillah and beside is the tomb of the lady. The symbol of his strength is found in Belchi. Past 650 years, Annual Urs take place every year at the Chillah Belchi on 14 to 16 Shawwal of Islamic Calendar.
