&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;New page&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div&gt;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Bhagadatta&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; was a king of the kingdom of [[Langkasuka]] who established contacts with China in the 6th century.&amp;lt;ref name=C51&amp;gt;{{cite book|first=George |last=Cœdès|author-link=George Cœdès|title=The Indianized States of South-East Asia|url={{google books |plainurl=y |id=iDyJBFTdiwoC}}|year=1968|publisher=University of Hawaii Press|isbn=978-0-8248-0368-1|location=Honolulu|page=51}}&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt; It is recorded in the &amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[Book of Liang]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039; that the king &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Pojiadaduo&amp;#039;&amp;#039;  (婆伽達多, believed to be a  [[Transcription into Chinese characters|Chinese transcription]] of Bhagadatta) sent his envoy &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Acheduo&amp;#039;&amp;#039;  (阿撤多) to the court of [[Emperor Wu of Liang]] in 515 to present a memorial. Further missions were sent by Bhagadatta and his successor to the Liang court in 523, 531, and 568.&amp;lt;ref name=&amp;quot;wheatley&amp;quot;/&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

According to the &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Book of Liang&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, the father of Bhagadatta was exiled by the king of Langkasuka and fled to India, where he married the eldest daughter of an Indian King, but after the king of Langkasuka had died, he was welcomed back and installed as a king. The [[Book of Liang]] notes that King Bhagadatta and his nobles wore above their robes red cloth which covered the top of their back between the shoulders.
