== Biography ==
Biswas was born in 1918 in Majhigati village, [[Faridpur Division|Faridpur District]], [[Bengal Presidency]], [[Presidencies and provinces of British India|British India]] (in present-day [[Muksudpur Upazila]], [[Gopalganj District, Bangladesh]]). He earned a bachelor's degree from the [[University of Calcutta]] in 1944.<ref name=ds>{{cite web |title=Death anniversary |date=27 January 2012 |url=https://www.thedailystar.net/news-detail-220038 |access-date=2024-12-04 |website=[[The Daily Star (Bangladesh)|The Daily Star]]}}</ref> Following the [[partition of India]] in 1947, he was involved in efforts aimed at preventing the migration of religious minorities from Pakistan and mitigating communal violence.

In the [[1954 East Bengal Legislative Assembly election|1954 provincial election]], Biswas contested as an independent candidate and was elected to the East Bengal Legislative Assembly. ==Personal life==
