Born in [[Pokhran]] to Thakur Chain Singh, [[Thakur (Indian title)|Thakur]] of Pokhran in present [[Jaisalmer district]], who was [[Pradhan]] of the Champawat [[Rathore (Rajput clan)|Rathore]] clan and also a judge at [[Allahabad High Court]].
