Born and raised in Pokhara, Thapa graduated in law from Prithivi Narayan Campus, Pokhara. Before joining politics, Mr. Thapa was the chairman of Pokhara Chamber of Commerce in industries from the year 2014 to 2016.<ref>https://ansuvaragroup.com/about/</ref> Mr. Thapa was also the Vice president of Nepal Automobile Dealers Association NADA from 2008-10. Thapa is a popular leader and is renowned for his compassion and philantrhophy .<br />
