==Geography==
[[Bara Boarijore]], the CD Block headquarters, is located at {{coord|25|3|41.8|N|87|28|32.6|E}}.

Boarijore is located {{convert|43|km|mi|1|abbr=on}} from [[Godda]], the district headquarters.

Godda district is a plateau region with undulating uplands, long ridges and depressions. The western portion of the [[Rajmahal hills]] passes through the district. The plain areas have lost their once-rich forests but the hills still retain some. According to the [[2011 Census of India]], Boarijore CD block had a total population of 138,330, all of it rural. There were 70,106 (51%) males and 68,224 (49%) females. Population in the age range 0–6 years was 25,352. [[Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes|Scheduled Castes]] numbered 4,409 (3.19%) and [[Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes|Scheduled Tribes]] numbered 76,935 (55.62%).<ref name=census2011/>

According to the 2011 census, the total number of literates in Boarijor CD block was 51,609 (45.68% of the population over 6 years) out of which 32,949 (64%) were males and 18,660 (36%) were females. In Boarijore CD block in 2011, amongst the class of total workers, cultivators numbered 18,675 and formed 28.54%, agricultural labourers numbered 36,753 and formed 56.16%, household industry workers numbered 1,771 and formed 2.71% and other workers numbered 8,244 and formed 12.60%. ===Coal mining===
Godda district is rich in coal. A major [[coal mining]] project of [[Eastern Coalfields Limited]] (Rajmahal open cast project, a part of [[Rajmahal coalfield]]) is going on in Boarijore, [[Mahagama (community development block)|Mahagama]] and [[Sunderpahari]] CD blocks.<ref name=admin/>

The Rajmahal Opencast project came up in the early 1980s with an annual cpapcity of 5 million tonnes. The capacity was raised to 10.5 million tonnes with Canadian collaboration in 1994. EMIL the mining arm of the [[Aditya Birla Group]] has been involved in the functioning of Rajmahal Opencast Mines of [[Eastern Coalfields]]. Mining operations started in July 2013. ===Agriculture===
Around 80% of the population depends on agriculture, the main economic activity of the district but lack of irrigation facilities is a major constraint in raising the existing low levels of productivity.
