YSR district was one of the 13 new districts formed in 2022 , with its headquarters at [[Kadapa]]. The reorganisation of the districts increased the number of districts in Andhra Pradesh to 26. Kadapa district was renamed YSR district in 2010 after [[Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy|Yeduguri Sandinti Rajasekhara Reddy]] (8 July 1949 – 2 September 2009), who was chief minister of Andhra Pradesh  for two terms. In a political career spanning 30 years, he never lost an election. Kandimallayapalle is located 60&amp;amp;nbsp;km away from [[Kadapa]]. It is well connected with roads. The preferable route from [[Kadapa]] to Kandimallayapalle is via [[Mydukuru]]. From [[Mydukur]], the distance is 25&amp;amp;nbsp;km. The nearest railway station to Brahmamgari Matam is [[Kadapa]]. The nearest airport is Kadapa airport.&lt;br /&gt;

===Brahmamsagar Reservoir===&lt;br /&gt;

The Sri Pothuluri Veerabrahmendra Swamy Reservoir was named after [[Pothuluru Veerabrahmendra Swamy]] and is part of the Telugu Ganga irrigation project. The reservoir is also known as the Sundupalli reservoir. Its foundation stone was laid by the late [[N. T. Rama Rao]]. The reservoir has a capacity of 17.73 [[tmcft]]. It is a pilgrimage centre. The village is known as Sri Pothuluri Veera Brahmandra Swamy  who entered into a samadhi alive in front of his disciples. He is considered to be the author of the [[Kalagnanam|&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Kālagnānaṁ&amp;#039;&amp;#039;]], a book of predictions. His prophetic texts are also known as the &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Govinda Vakyas&amp;#039;&amp;#039;.&lt;br /&gt;
