He spent the next fifteen years in India, rising to become [[Archdeacon]] of [[Hazaribagh]]. He was [[Canon (priest)|Canon Theologian]] at [[St Anne's Cathedral, Belfast|Belfast Cathedral]] from 1963 to 1970.<br />
