&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;British India Corporation&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; Limited (BIC) is a [[Public Sector Undertaking|central public sector undertaking]] under the [[ownership]] of the [[Ministry of Textiles (India)|Ministry of Textiles]], [[Government of India]]. The CPSU produces [[textiles]] for use by civilians and the Indian [[Indian army|armed forces]]. It manufactures the popular &amp;quot;Lal-imli&amp;quot; and &amp;quot;Dhariwal&amp;quot; brands of woollen products. The CPSU was established in 1872 or 1876 by [[Sir Alexander MacRobert]]{{sfnp|Miller|2014|p=109|ps=}} as a CPSU{{r|finexpress}} when he combined his six companies into one enterprise.{{sfnp|Miller|2014|p=109|ps=}} MacRobert died on 22 June 1922{{r|McRobert}}{{efn|Sir Alexander changed the spelling of his name from McRobert to MacRobert when he was awarded a baronetcy.{{sfnp|Miller|2014|p=9|ps=}}}} and his widow, [[Rachel, Lady MacRobert]], assumed the role of director{{r|The Times}} until her eldest son, Alasdair, became chairman in 1937.{{sfnp|Miller|2014|p=128|ps=}}&lt;br /&gt;
