==Militarization==<br />
It was a place of minimal security risk until around 1999–2000. After [[September 11 attacks]] and the [[2001 Indian Parliament attack|Indian parliament attack]] in 2001, the security of the area was increased, and all type of leisure activities surrounding the area were stopped.<br />

==Accidents==<br />
On 31 May 2016, a major fire broke out in the ammunition depot. There are two companies in the town, Shri Krushna Industries' Cotton Mills (erstwhile PCM) and Vidarbha Phosphates.<br />

There are two schools inside this military area, i.e. Kendriya vidyalaya, Pulgaon and Army Primary School, Pulgaon. Mostly children of military personnel study here.<br />
