Carmel College of Engineering & Technology, Punnapra managed by St. Joseph's Carmel Educational & Charitable Trust of [[Carmelites of Mary Immaculate|CMI]], is the only engineering college offering undergraduate level courses under the Province of St. Joseph, Thiruvananthapuram. The first polytechnic college in Alappuzha was the Carmel Polytechnic College, established by Fr. Gilbert Palaekunnel and it's managed by CMI Congregation.
