Devatale was born in Jaulkheda, a village District in [[Betul, Madhya Pradesh]].&amp;lt;ref name=&amp;quot;jiv&amp;quot; /&amp;gt; He completed his higher education from [[Indore]] and [[Doctor of Philosophy|Ph.D.]] from [[Sagar University]].He started writing poetry in 1952 and by 1960 he was published in all major literary magazines in Hindi. He has written more than 500 poems.
