He succeeded his father Sir Mohamedbhoy Ebrahim as Baronet, and as managing director of many family-owned firms. He also became director or chairman of many charitable trusts in the Bombay area and in 1936, also started the [[Muslim]] Peace and Relief Committee. In the same year, he became a member of the [[All India Muslim League]] and an active political leader of this party.<br />
