A northward extension from Dum Dum to Dakshineswar (6.20&amp;amp;nbsp;km [3.85&amp;amp;nbsp;mi]) was sanctioned and included in the 2010–11 budget at a cost of [[Indian rupee|₹]]227.53 [[crore]] (equivalent to ₹411 crore or US$58 million in 2019).
