They ruled parts of the [[Jammu Division|Jammu]] region of India, including the Bahu part of Jammu City, in the 900s (10th century AD). They are Brahmins, mostly Saraswat, and belong to the Mohyal Brahmin group of Saraswat Brahmins. The Dutts either originated in Iraq or spent a few centuries there before migrating/ returning to India.
