It is also one of the seven [[Kerala Legislative Assembly|state legislative assembly]] constituencies included in [[Idukki Lok Sabha constituency]].<ref name="idk">{{cite web

Raja (Kerala politician)|A. Raja]] of [[Communist Party of India (Marxist)|CPI(M)]] was elected as the [[Member of the Legislative Assembly (India)|MLA]].
