Contests in most years were multi cornered but only winners and runners are being mentioned. [[Kamal Guha]] won the seat in a row from 1977 to 2001 (and also earlier – see below). He represented Forward Bloc in all years except 1996, when he represented the break away [[Forward Bloc (Socialist)]], which subsequently was reunited with the parent body.
