The magazine was initially named &amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Dor Muineachi Rotti Povitra Jesucha Calzachem Devoçãõ Vaddounchi&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;.&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;In Latin script Devoçãõ is written with a single extended tilde above both the a and the o&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt; [[Fr. Vincent Lobo]], from [[Sangolda]] in Goa, curator at the St. Patrick&amp;#039;s Church in Karachi, began it in 1915,&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;{{cite web|title=Dor Mhoineachi Rotti...|url=http://goanet-news.goanet.narkive.com/f0FoHo9e/re-view-dor-mhoineachi-rotti|work=Narkive|accessdate=25 December 2016}}&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt; to cater to the large number of Konkani-speaking people there, as there was no other Konkani spiritual literature. Its stated intention is to spread the devotion to the Christian idea of the [[Sacred Heart of Jesus]]; The name was changed subsequently to &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Dor Muiniachi Rotti, Concanim Messenger of the Sacred Heart&amp;#039;&amp;#039;. On Fr. Vincent Lobo&amp;#039;s death on 11 November 1922, [[Fr. António Ludovico Pereira]], also from Sangolda, took over. &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Dor Mhoineachi Rotti&amp;#039;&amp;#039; had an estimated readership of around 12,000. After the death of Fr. António Ludovico Pereira on 26 July 1936, [[Fr. Antanasio Moniz]], from [[Verna, Goa|Verna]], took over. On his death in 1953, [[Fr. Elias D&amp;#039;Souza]], from [[Bodiem]], [[Tivim]] in [[Goa]] became the fourth editor. [[Moreno de Souza]] was editor for around 42 years. The &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Dor Mhuineachi Rotti&amp;#039;&amp;#039; is owned by the [[Jesuits]] in Goa, edited by [[Fr.
