Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, was established by an Act of Govt. of Uttar Pradesh in 2005<ref>{{Cite web|last=|first=|date=|title=University Act|url=http://www.rmlnlu.ac.in/RTI/1_RMLNLU%20ACT.pdf|url-status=live|archive-url=|archive-date=|access-date=|website=}}</ref> and came into being on 4 January 2006 to meet up the new challenges in legal field.
